The chancellor noted that the Chinese government has shared with the federal administration all the information they have about the new coronavirus.

The Chinese government supported the federal administration with 300 ventilators that could be used for patients infected with the new coronavirus, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Friday.

“Yesterday (Thursday) we got an order, with the support of the Chinese government, that the health sector needs . There are 300 ventilators to reinforce their own systems for when you have patients (with COVID-19) who need help,” he explained.

The Foreign Secretary underlined the support received by the Chinese Government in relation to the disease caused by the coronavirus.

“They have had a commendable attitude towards Mexico. They have shared with us all the information (about the virus), their findings, what they learned,” he added.

Mexico has registered one death and 164 people infected by COVID-19 . José Luis Alomía, general director of Epidemiology, said Thursday that there is another person who died and who was among the suspected cases of the disease.

Conagua will reinforce actions to guarantee water supply

The National Water Commission (Conagua) will implement actions in four areas due to the spread of COVID-19 in the country, said Blanca Jiménez, director of the agency.

The supply of water to the vulnerable population will be strengthened through emerging equipment, that is, pipes, he said.

Preference will also be given to hospitals and clinics designated by health authorities as priority. In this regard, Jiménez pointed out that Conagua acts in coordination with IMSS, ISSSTE and the Ministry of Health.

“We are looking at the situation in 22 states to see how their tank needs are, if tank trucks can enter (…) and to establish a directory where they can be contacted if necessary,” he explained.

Other additional actions involve the correct disinfection of the water, by which the residual chlorine content will have to be increased, as well as ensuring that the service is provided in all states and at all levels.

As part of preventive measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Health has stressed the need to continuously wash your hands. In the case of older adults, the suggestion is that they do it between 10 and 20 times a day.
