Veracruz, Mexico.- The piñata of Hugo López-Gatell became in the last three months the most requested piece by the people of Veracruz, who never lose their sense of humor, not even in the middle of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Gabriela Callejas Macedo elaborates the figure of the Helth Undersecretary in the family business “La Casa de las Piñatas“, which is located on Rafael Cuervo Avenue in the port of Veracruz.
She started making the López-Gatell piñatas and the product has a good demand.
However, Gabriella is commercializing a more elaborate and attractive piece for her customers.
It is the figure of the undersecretary dressed in his usual gray suit, wearing a stethoscope around his neck, and a blue mouthpiece. While in his right hand he holds a smaller piñata with the figure of the coronavirus.
Gabriela Callejas Macedo indicated that four to three days of work are required to make the piñata depicting the image of Undersecretary Hugo López-Gatell, so they are sold only on customer request.
The materials he uses are cardboard and paint, which he manipulates in the technique known as a mold, which allows her to detail to the features and peculiarities of the federal official personality.
The cost of each piece is 750 pesos.
So far Gabriela has sold 22 piñatas with the figure of the federal official since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
