Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz (August 28, 2020).- A storm registered in the coastal city of Coatzacoalcos flooded several avenues of the downtown area, and a number of vehicles ended up literally submerged.
The heavy rain started around four in the afternoon and only lasted one hour, but that was enough to wreak havoc on the whole municipality.
On crossroads such as the one on Mexico and Chihuahua streets, in the Petrolera neighborhood, a car was practically covered by the water level.
Another vehicle ended up trapped at the heightnear the corner of Independencia and Ignacio de la Llave Avenues, in the first square of the city and had to be pushed by citizens.
Juan Escutia Avenue was also flooded and the water entered some businesses as well as homes. Not far from there, a pick-up truck suffered the ravages of the rain as well.
As is customary, the coastal boardwalk looked flooded due to the fact that a large part of the water flow from the south of the city falls there.
So far there are no reports of people injured or damage to the electric power service.
