In a video that circulates on social networks, the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) and its armed wing known as “Los Cuatro Letras” accused the government of Veracruz, the Municipal Police of Cosamaloapan, and the Secretary of Government, Eric Cisneros Burgos, of protecting and promote illicit activities of the Sinaloa Cartel.

In the almost three-minute recording published by Proceso magazine on Twitter, at least 20 members of “Los Cuatro Letras” have 10 people kneeling and pointing at their guns; nine of them were allegedly found murdered this Friday morning on a highway in Isla, Veracruz.

When they are gunned down, they confess to being part of a cell of the Sinaloa Cartel, which is allegedly supported by the state government with “weapons, vehicles, money and drugs” to recruit hitmen to “heat the square” in the Papaloapan Basin.

In the video, the head of “Los Cuatro Letras” interrogates Alejandro Roca Andrade, son of Dámaso Luis Roca Burgos, a relative of the Secretary of Government of Veracruz, Eric Cisneros Burgos, affirms that he was given 5 million pesos to recruit hitmen.

“My uncle hired me a few months ago, he offered me a job and 5 million pesos for me to recruit hitmen to heat up the plaza in the Papaloapan Basin, since the Secretary of Public Security, Hugo Gutiérrez Maldonado, does not want to pull (sic ) with the Sinaloa Cartel ”, says Alejandro when threatened.

The recording began to circulate a few hours after nine bodies were found on the La Tijana-Coloseacaque highway, in the municipality of Isla, Veracruz.
