Four family members were killed and one was injured in an armed attack in Tlalixcoyan, Veracruz, as reported by the state Public Security Secretariat.

According to witnesses, the multi-homicide occurred during the morning, when the victims, including a former councilor, were in a carpentry shop next to their house, on Avenida 3 de Diciembre, almost on the corner of Libertad Street in the downtown area.

The criminals opened escaped in a truck owned by the victims.

The assailants repeatedly fired at the five people and then fled; apparently, they used silencers, as locals said they did not hear the detonations.

A neighbor noticed the crime after going to the carpentry and seeing the bodies lying around.
Who were the victims of the armed attack?

Among the victims is an accountant identified as Cándido, his wife Rosa, his daughter-in-law and former councilor, Ninna, and two minors named Jesús and Romario, according to the first reports from authorities.

Paramedics were mobilized to help the injured and after confirming the death of the four victims, they were mobilized to transfer Jesus to a hospital, as his condition was reported as serious.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) had criminal experts and Ministerial Police agents available to initiate investigations and proceed against those found responsible.

The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).

Tlalixcoyan is located in the Sotavento region, about 140 kilometers by road through Xalapa.
