As December approaches, insecurity will increase because more money begins to circulate and that attracts those who live outside the law, predicted Santiago Argüello Cruz, Secretary of Transportation of the CROC Veracruz Federation in this city and its conurbation with Boca del Río and Medellín.
He said that he is not a doomsayer but affirmed that his vision is based on years of experience and it is not a secret that with the December bonuses comes a strong economic spillover in the goods and services segment.
This spillover is multiplied thanks to the December bonuses that workers receive, and those who love other people’s property are very aware of when they begin to flow, in order to fall on their possible victims.
But that is not the only expression of insecurity, there are other more serious ones that threaten property and insecurity.
“We are seeing that insecurity is increasing a little. A few days ago, they killed a colleague, they took the unit and it appeared abandoned there; after that, they assaulted 2-3 colleagues in different areas of the city.
“It is not something constant but it was not happening, it was no longer happening, it had already been… not eradicated but it had been fought and it seemed like it was not happening. And if you look at December, it is going to increase,” warned Argüello Cruz.
They demand greater security
The Secretary of Transportation of the CROC Veracruz Federation urged the next state Public Security authority to take the bull by the horns when he takes office.
“Yes, ask the authority to strengthen security; here in Veracruz we still do not know who will be the Secretary of Public Security, and let us not fall into a lethargy to see who enters and how he will work.
“We expect much closer ties with the transport sector, that we have the meetings we had before, which were held with the union and the union provided feedback to the authorities with reports of what it observed in its taxi services,” said Argüello Cruz.
