In Veracruz, more than 1,600 people have been evacuated from homes damaged by tropical storm “Nadine.”

According to the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), its personnel have successfully evacuated 1,680 individuals from their residences to safe areas. This effort is part of the DN-III-E Plan’s recovery phase in 13 municipalities within the state of Veracruz.

To carry out this operation, the Sedena has deployed a force consisting of 665 soldiers and National Guards, supported by 58 vehicles, eight boats, and two helicopters provided by the Mexican Air Force.

As of now, these efforts have yielded significant results: 1,680 people have been safely relocated to secure areas; 34 shelters have been established; 298 medical consultations have taken place; and 17,200 food packages, 2,110 hot meals, and 40,625 liters of bottled water have been distributed. Additionally, 16,150 sandbags have been placed, and 242 cubic meters of mud and debris have been removed.

The Sedena and the National Guard reaffirm their commitment to ensuring the well-being of citizens and contributing to the Mexican government’s efforts in maintaining order, providing aid to those affected, and rebuilding damaged areas.
