Orizaba will receive certification in the US for having the safest police force in southeastern Mexico

The Orizaba Police will receive a certification as the safest in the state of Veracruz and in the southeast of Mexico.

Mayor Juan Manuel Diez Franco said that on November 16, he will receive the certification granted by the sheriffs in the United States.

“We are going to Jacksonville, Florida, where they will give us the certification. Every year we have to get certified again.”

Diez Franco said that the Orizaba Police is the first corporation in the southeast of the country to receive this certification.

“They come, they review all the processes, how you operate, how you treat your Police, how the Police treats citizens, the equipment, the systems, the C5, it has to have a mirror, if you comply with all that, we will be the first municipality that will be certified by the sheriffs.”

The certification is granted by the Commission for the Accreditation of Public Security Agencies (CALEA).

The mayor stressed that this certificate must be revalidated every year, for which the sheriffs go for a week to do an analysis of the weapons, equipment, etc.

Diez Franco indicated that Orizaba is safe, because he indicated that those who enter the city come to have fun, although he stressed that what is recorded are thefts of wallets, even in stores.

Orizaba has 140 new patrol cars, 281 video cameras throughout 27.9 square kilometers.

In the area, they have eight panic buttons in which in about three minutes there is a response to a call for help.
