Reveriano “N”, a Morena candidate for mayor of Coxquihui, Veracruz, is arrested; he is accused of homicide

The Morena candidate for mayor of Coxquihui, Veracruz, Reveriano N, was arrested by ministerial agents who carried out an arrest warrant issued by a Puebla judge who is looking for him for the alleged crime of homicide.

The detainee had registered as a candidate for the Morena candidacy of the municipality of Coxquihui, where he already served as municipal president.

It was elements of the Ministerial Police of the State of Veracruz, who carried out an arrest warrant as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of qualified homicide.

The detainee is required within the criminal process 235/2022, in the municipality of Teziutlán, belonging to the state of Puebla, where he is accused of the murder of the victim identified with the initials H.A.L.A.

The State Attorney General’s Office reported that, respecting his human rights and due process, he will be handed over to the ministerial authorities of that state, to be presented before the judge who requires him, who will define his legal situation.

State authorities have accused the former mayor of Coxquihui, Reveriano N, of being the leader of a criminal group; and in 2019, he was arrested accused of the crimes of prison escape, abuse of authority, disobedience and resistance of individuals, and vehicle theft.

In 2023, an armed attack occurred on a family in the port of Veracruz, where five people died, including Fernando Pérez Vega, former candidate of the Fuerza por México party for mayor of Coxquihui and brother of Reveriano.
