Five women remain missing in municipalities in northern Veracruz so far in 2026. The most recent reports are from Poza Rica and Tuxpan, according to official missing persons reports.
The State Search Commission issued reports to locate Perla Citlali Hernández Gómez, 20, last seen on January 9 in the town of Higueral, in the municipality of Tuxpan.
Another report concerns Emma Nayeli Jiménez Pérez, 21, whose whereabouts have been unknown since January 13 in Poza Rica.
These cases are in addition to three other reports filed in the first days of the year. On January 1, Grecia Zulema Cárdenas González, 28, was reported missing in Papantla.
On January 10, Wendy Arantxa Portilla Ramos and Karime Monserrat Murrieta were last seen after attending a funeral in the northern part of the state.
The Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office activated the corresponding protocols and disseminated identifying characteristics to aid in the search efforts.
Relatives of the missing women requested public assistance in providing information that could help locate them and facilitate their return.
Authorities are continuing their investigations and reiterated that any information can be reported confidentially through the official search channels established in Veracruz.
