With the arrival of Volaris’s inaugural flight Y4 536 at the Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport, Veracruz has added a new domestic air link as the direct Querétaro–Veracruz route begins operations, facilitating travel for tourists, businesspeople, and travelers between the Bajío region and the Gulf of Mexico.

The aircraft landed at 7:49 a.m., marking the launch of a route that expands access options to the state and strengthens ties with one of the country’s most industrially, economically, and tourism-driven regions.

The route will operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Querétaro–Veracruz flight will depart at 6:41 a.m. and arrive at 7:49 a.m., while the Veracruz–Querétaro leg will take off at 8:28 a.m., arriving at 9:31 a.m.

The launch of this connection follows up on the announcement made by Governor Rocío Nahle García last February, when she announced that ticket sales had begun as part of a strategy to bolster Veracruz’s air connectivity, attract visitors, and generate greater development opportunities for the tourism sector.

The passenger reception was led by the Secretary of Tourism, Ígor Fidel Rojí López, who highlighted that the new route represents a significant step toward bringing Veracruz closer to the country’s central region and expanding its potential visitor market.

He noted that, in addition to connecting directly with the city of Querétaro, this route will facilitate access for travelers arriving from other economic and urban hubs within the Bajío region—such as León, Irapuato, Celaya, and Guanajuato—thereby allowing more people to discover the tourism, cultural, gastronomic, and natural attractions across the state’s seven regions.

Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude for Volaris’s confidence in incorporating this destination into its operational network, reiterating that the State Government remains in ongoing discussions with various airlines to continue expanding Veracruz’s air connectivity. The Airport Administrator, Simón Salazar Antón, reported that the Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport currently receives between 150,000 and 160,000 passengers per month—a figure that reflects the importance of continuing to keep Veracruz in vogue.
