More than 3 million people would be arriving for the second half of this year, increasing tourism growth.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (Sectur), Iván Martínez Olvera, shared that at the beginning of the year they predicted a tourism growth of 18 percent, however, the figure was only for the first half of 2023, which he celebrated.

“We have a very important growth expectation. As I had told you at the beginning of the year, we projected a growth of 18 percent in the tourism field for this year and as the figures have been given throughout the first semester we had a growth of 51 percent and that leads us to expect approximately 3 million tourists throughout the vacation period throughout the state,” he explained.

He recalled that the summer vacation period will be from July 24 to August 28, recalling that there are stronger days when school vacations coincide with government offices.

In this sense, he announced that in addition to the 3 million visitors, in said vacation period an 87 percent hotel occupancy rate is expected throughout the Veracruz state.

Martínez Olvera affirmed that seven regions of the state have benefits and each one has significant attractions and different products to offer tourism.

In addition to the above, he pointed out that in the coming months there will be several events that will attract tourism, such as the Fiestas de Santa Ana, a celebration of Boca del Río in which the state government cooperated.

“If we support the city council there, it starts with logistics, operations, resources, public security, civil protection and everything that is required with participation. The mayor has always collaborated very well with the State Government and vice versa, we are here to support them and there is very good collaboration,” he concluded.
