A few kilometers from the city of Veracruz, passing Boca del Río, there is a natural paradise, the Mandinga Lagoon located in the town with the same name, in the Veracruz Riviera area of Antón Lizardo, municipality of Alvarado.
But it is not just any lagoon, the municipal agent of Mandinga and Matoza, Martha María Rivera Huerta, comments on the natural sites of great beauty in the town.
“We have many places that you can visit such as the Isla de las conchitas, where right now we have a virgin called Unseller of knots and we have the Tunnel of the Kiss, the Island of the Birds.”
Among the greatest attractions are the Isla de las Aves and the Isla de las Conchitas, in the latter there is a sanctuary where the Virgin Desatanudos is located in the middle of the lagoon.
“That island called Isla de las Conchitas is in the middle of the lagoon and you can visit us there. We have a virgin called Untied of Knots, we have a small sanctuary, it has just been a year since we had it here in Mandinga.”
But there is another space to visit, the kissing tunnel, according to Rivera Huerta.
“It is the kiss tunnel, that is also based on the mangrove, a small tunnel was made and you can visit us there, it is very beautiful, everything is nature, the trees are a mangrove.”
Furthermore, in the rainy season the jellyfish illuminate the place where they are in the lagoon with their brightness.
The municipal agent pointed out that to visit these sites in Mandinga you must reach the restaurant area where you must board a boat that will take you to your destination.
From Boca del Río you take the road to Antón Lizardo, at the height of the Lomas del Mar subdivision you will find the road to Mandiga, as a reference before accessing Mandinga there are two gas stations.
