The authorities deployed elements of the National Guard, Army and Naval Police, and the regional Prosecutor’s Office carried out the lifting of a body.
A shooting was reported in the Plaza Américas shopping center, in the municipality of Boca del Río, after a robbery at a jewelry store.
The state Public Security Secretariat reported that they managed to thwart the robbery, arrest one criminal and kill another. In these events, a policeman was injured.
The events occurred on the upper floor of the shopping center, towards the exit to the Adolfo Ruíz Cortines boulevard. The man who died apparently tried to escape on his motorcycle when he was shot down.
Elements of the National Guard, the Army and the Naval Police went to the place, while the staff of the regional Prosecutor’s Office carried out the lifting of the body.
The injured policeman was transferred to a nearby hospital, and is reported stable. Several establishments near the scene of the events were closed as a precautionary measure.
