Ten drowning deaths reported in Veracruz during the holiday season.

A total of 10 people died from drowning during the summer vacation period in the state of Veracruz, reported the Secretary of Civil Protection, Guadalupe Osorno Maldonado.

She commented that during that period, 64 rescues were carried out in bodies of water, in addition to 204 roadside assistance services throughout the state.

She specified that the number of deaths is lower than last year, and that the 2025 vacation was longer.

“Fortunately, 64 people’s lives were saved, and 200 roadside assistance services of all kinds were provided,” she said at a press conference.

The official commented that during the summer vacation operation, more than 1,500 state personnel joined forces with federal agencies.

She said that in addition to the Public Security Police, the National Guard, the Navy, and the Ministry of National Defense also took part in the operation.
