Since Saturday, April 25, the 2026 National Vaccination Week has begun in the state of Veracruz and the rest of Mexico’s 32 federal entities. During this week, various vaccines will be administered free of charge at all public hospitals in the state to complete vaccination schedules for all ages.
This Tuesday, April 28, during the morning press conference, the Federal Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz, announced that, to increase vaccination coverage across the population, the National Vaccination Week will be extended throughout the month of May.
The general public can get vaccinated at any public hospital, clinic, or health center in the state of Veracruz and its cities where these vaccines are available. To find your nearest health center and receive any missing doses in your vaccination schedule, visit dondemevacuno.salud.gob.mx.
Types of vaccines being administered
Children under 1 year old
Tuberculosis (BCG) – at birth
Hepatitis B < 7 days old
Hexavalent – 2, 4, and 6 months of age
Rotavirus – 2 and 4 months
Pneumococcal – 2 and 4 months
Influenza – 6 and 7 months, annual booster
Children 1 year old
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MR) – 6, 12, and 18 months of age
Pneumococcal – 12 months
Hexavalent – 18 months
Hepatitis A – 18 months
Influenza – Annual booster for the first 4 years
Children under 8 years old
Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus (DTP) – 4 years old
Influenza – If they have risk factors
COVID-19 – a Starting at age 5, if you have risk factors
Adolescents
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) – girls and boys in fifth grade and 11-year-olds not attending school
Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td) – Revaccination every 10 years
Influenza – If you have risk factors
Measles/Rubella (MR) – Only for those with an incomplete vaccination schedule
Hepatitis B – If you have not received any doses
COVID-19 – If you have risk factors
Adults, between 20 and 59 years old
Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td) – Revaccination every 10 years
Influenza – If you have risk factors
Measles/Rubella (MR) – If you have an incomplete vaccination schedule
Hepatitis B – If you have not received any doses or if you have been vaccinated by a healthcare professional
