Near the city of Orizaba in Veracruz, is the Cañón del Río Blanco National Park. The long stretch of the river forms around 24 waterfalls and is, therefore, a very interesting starting point for adventure tourism such as hiking, canyoneering and rappelling

The reserve is located in the municipalities of Nogales and Río Blanco, in the central mountainous area of ​​Veracruz; It includes the hills of: Sierra de Agua, Tecamaluca, Ojo Zarco, Nacoxtla, Huiloapan, San Cristóbal, el Xochio, Encinal and Nogales. 

It was decreed a National Park on March 22, 1938, in order to prevent soil erosion as well as to stop forest exploitation and thus have better conservation of it.

It has an area of 55960 hectares, Its flora includes coniferous forest, oak, mountain mesophyll and evergreen jungle and fauna such as the tiger snake also known as the flying snake, the hunting tiger that reaches up to 3 meters in length. In addition, you can also find the four-eyed opossum is a species nocturnal.

Also noteworthy are the white-tailed deer, also known as Virginia deer, rabbit, armadillo, coyote, ocelot, skunk, raccoon, cacomixtle or cacomisel, and the alicante terrestrial lizard.

There is also the Elephant Waterfall, its fall covers 20 meters and it is incredible to observe the landscape that nature gives away.

To better admire the view, it is recommended to go down a walk of 500 steps where you will have a panoramic view of the canyon and the waterfall.

 In addition, the largest zip line in the State is located in this same place where you can enjoy the adrenaline since it has a height of 120 meters and consists of two routes of 288 and 270 meters long.
