Orizaba, Ver.- The tourism that is generated in the municipality of La Perla as an arrival access to Pico de Orizaba has led to the creation of “El Camino de Guadalupe”, we tell you what this project is about.

Ruth García Meza, mayor of La Perla, points out that this initiative was thanks to Father Evaristo Sada who, together with the population and artisans who work with stone, chose the landscapes that pass through the Garden or Camino de Guadalupe.

What tourist attractions does La Perla have?

“The municipality is divided into two routes, one is Villas Pico and Villas Puerta del Cielo and the two are working on the Villas Lince that are advanced in the project, but we also have Cascadas Paraíso, the Seminary and the new project that will bring religious tourism “, she explains.

What is “El Camino de Guadalupe” about?

In the place, images of more than 2 meters high with stone carving of “La Morenita del Tepeyac” and other religious personalities are being placed, according to the map there are 7 images that can be found in route.

She mentions that these images were installed at points where the background landscape is the Pico de Orizaba; this project was planned by the inhabitants and the figures were made outside the State of Veracruz.

“Six images have been installed and the work of the local people is the installation, they place them, load them and find a way to transport them”, she explains.

“El Camino Guadalupe” has a first image in Las Trincheras, another one in La Ciénega Cruz Grande, a third in Chilapa, followed by San Martín, in Macuilacatl and in the municipality of La Perla.

She affirms that little by little the works for this project are finishing and they hope that this Holy Week religious tourism can reach the municipality of La Perla, where they will be able to request the information to go to this place.
