In Veracruz, civilians disarm and beat two police officers after an alleged search

Two municipal police officers were attacked by a group of residents in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the municipality of Nogales, located in the central mountainous region of Veracruz.

There are versions that indicate that the officers were disarmed, beaten and one of them was shot with his own service weapon.

Allegedly, the police officers were patrolling the aforementioned neighborhood when an altercation occurred, due to an alleged search. The police officers were surrounded and began to be attacked.

One of the officers managed to ask his colleagues for help and when they arrived at the scene they found the two police officers seriously injured, who were taken to a hospital for treatment. The patrol car they were driving was also damaged.

The Nogales City Council issued a statement warning that it will proceed legally when the officers are in a position to give a statement.
